WHAT WE’VE DONE
Together, we have:
Led the fight for the enforcement of our Union Security article.
Fought for Cornell’s distribution of the $1,300 ratification bonus to all eligible members, including fellows.
Built a strong, democratic infrastructure for department-level organizing for our strike pledge drive in multiple areas of campus, including Region 3 (Art, Architecture, and Planning; Arts; Humanities); Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; Computer Science and Information Science, and others.
Led CGSU-UE’s first General Membership Meetings to build a strong base for mass democratic participation across Cornell’s campuses.
Spearheaded the creation of a CGSU-wide Communications Committee, which has led the charge on delivering clear, informative, and frequent communications with members.
Revitalized CAT as a collaborative and lively venue for mass participation among organizers.
Run successful grievance and contract education campaigns after the ratification of CGSU-UE’s historic first contract.
Began enforcing our contract through grievances.
Recruited and trained stewards to build out a robust steward network across Cornell’s multiple campuses.
Established connections between CGSU-UE and local Ithaca unions, UE sibling locals, and other unions in the UE network.
